AIR CONDITIONER SAFETY
INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS
Location Requirements
IMPORTANT: Observe all governing codes and ordinances.
Check the location where the air conditioner will be installed.
Make sure you have everything necessary for correct installation.
The location should provide:
■Grounded electrical outlet within ft ( cm)4.27 130
of where the power cord exits the air conditioner.
NOTE: Do not use an extension cord.
■Free movement of air in room to be cooled.
■A large enough opening for the air conditioner. Installation
parts are supplied for double-hung windows.
■Allow at least 10" (25 cm) clearance from walls and furniture.
NOTE: Cabinet louvers must not be obstructed. Do not place the
unit in front of drapes or curtains; they may block the air intake.
Disposing of the unit:
■When you need to dispose of the unit, consult with your local dealer or local recycling center for information on how to
dispose of the unit in a environmentally responsible manner.
■Please recycle or dispose of the packaging material for product in an environmentally responsible manner.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock or injury when using your air conditioner, follow these basic precautions:
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
Plug into a grounded 3 prong outlet.
Do not remove ground prong.
Do not use an adapter.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical, sensory,
or mental capabilities, or lack experience and knowledge,
unless they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning the use of appliance by a person responsible
for their safety.
Do not use an extension cord.
Unplug air conditioner before servicing.
Use two or more people to move and install air conditioner.
Do not drink water collected in the water bucket.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not
play with the appliance.
